FAQ

Quick answers on choosing and installing industrial matting

Use these as a starting point, then request the specification pack for your site.

How do I choose the right mat for my workplace?

Start with the hazard you're solving — standing fatigue, slips, static (ESD), drainage or hot works — then the traffic and how long people stand in the area. You can browse matting by hazard, work through our buyer guides, or tell us about your site and we'll recommend a configuration.

What's the difference between M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 and M-Lite?

M1 is light-to-medium comfort matting for half-day standing; M2 is heavier comfort matting built for full 8-hour standing shifts. M3 is ESD bench matting and M4 is ESD anti-fatigue floor matting for static-controlled areas. M5 is our modular interlocking tile system, pressed in the UK, available with anti-fatigue, anti-slip, drainage, ESD and antimicrobial surfaces. M-Lite is our lighter-weight anti-fatigue matting.

What's the difference between individual M5 tiles and workstation kits?

Individual M5 tiles let you build a floor to any shape and size — you choose the surface and how many tiles you need. Workstation kits are ready-made sets sized for a single standing position, so the tiles and finishing pieces for one workstation come together in a single purchase.

Do individual M5 tiles need edging or ramps?

The tiles interlock directly, so tiles within a run don't need edging between them. Where a tile edge meets an open floor or a walkway, matching M5 edge and ramp pieces give a safe bevelled transition — these are sold separately, or included in a workstation kit.

Which products are suitable for ESD-controlled areas?

For static-controlled (ESD/EPA) areas we offer M3 ESD bench matting, M4 ESD anti-fatigue floor matting, and M5 ESD interlocking tiles, along with the grounding accessories to earth them. If you're specifying an EPA, our ESD guide walks through the choices.

What happens if a product is made to order or needs a quotation?

Some sizes and specified builds are made to order rather than supplied ready-made. These show a quotation route instead of a fixed price: tell us the size and surface you need and we'll confirm the specification, lead time and price before anything is ordered.
